dear guitardos,
the final weekend. I got a combined 3 hours of sleep. my jaw hurts from grinding my teeth. steph gave me her hacking bronchitis from going oooh at me. b caught me looking at him with utter loathing. that was a close one.
guitarded is nearly done. saturday, the plus ones delivered. sunday, le trav stepped up & mixed the 4 track wonders of the m's, sfs, bbg & the plusies. & he didn't set himself on fire in protest. amazing! those who have not had the pleasure of knowing mr. h & his serious biz studio should acquaint themselves & get recorded by him STAT. the man is like a kindly surgeon that won't rape you when you're sedated & vulnerable. though that sounds a bit intense as far as similes go. is that even a simile? I digress...
I have all finished tracks (including the kristie/george collabo on kill the messenger which sounds like super sexy yo la tengo introspection pop) 'cept for jam master mcvay's. no matter, I know what his sounds like. SO this means I worked on sequencing yesterday. which was like cake & is done (russian accent). the guitarded track listing shall be as follows:
1. multiply/teenage squirrel
2. hoboken/the u-hearts,
3. kill the messenger/g love & special k
4. neighbors/beastmaster romance (excerpt)
5. 36 tropicalia/scarlet fever school
6. better/jm's still unnamed project
7. tuesday night/carol ann & the fantastic stand
8. mig/baby be-gone
9. crawl/the m's
10. niv/botany bay
11. catholic schoolgirls/the plus ones.
all of you who participated deserved to be covered with chocolate & licked sensually with solemnity.
hong kong kelly has the art work & will get it to me somehow... NOW, where I will really need help is the liner notes. arts & freakin' crafts & me don't mix & b needs a gatefold sleeve with all our info & I'm only capable of figuring out so much. WAAAH! not so good with the design, understand? so any & all suggestions will be greeted with WAY TOO MUCH gratitude. please email me with help if you pity me.
for b's birthday party/record release, I recommend getting there on the early end just so we can play him our burnt offering at the start of things. that way he won't be too drunk to hear it & we won't terrify all non-participating late-comers with our effin' genius. catholic schoolgirl uniform optional.

"Botany Bay"? Considering the acronym behind NIV, I think the prison colony setting is doubly scandalous.
botany bay is a penal colony? where? when? I am curious & uneducated.
