what about you?
dear guitardos,
crunch time. the deadline has been extended to february 18. what this means is that you must get your tune in my hot sweaty little paws by or on the 18. which also means 11 days until guitarded explodes. well, if I had a ticking time bomb clock on this page it would. damn techno-mamo-logy!
scarlet fever school finished trinta seis tropicalia. it does not make me vomit despite the absence of a guiro. that's a good thing. also, j & da dirty provided me with what will be one of my top 10 memories for 2005, the sight of them standing side by side in headphones, shimmying with their eyes closed going "mmmmmmm" like little brazilian chanteuses. nice. if you want a preliminary copy, I can provide one for you. but first j must teach me which one to send that doesn't have massive amounts of hiss. tee-hee. I'm bad with computers.
the plus ones finally all met at one place, at the same time, eh...minus jenny who's in los angeles. but t filled in for her with gusto, bravely going where she probably never, ever wanted to go again. when jenny gets back, we will put this lost masterpiece to tape & then the world can behold the splendor of jenny's sweet conversational tones & cheez's falsetto. it's like honey & brie.
other quotes:
george j speaks out about the smell jessel (just a temp name) version of "tuesday night"...
"OOhhhhyeah. We're nearly done. Just a couple more vocal tracks and I'm gonna mix it down. It came out really great...It's got fat beats, cool harmonies and a sexy Jess spoken word bridge. Oo la la."
kristie corp speaks out about her & george corp's take on "kill the messenger"...
"g and i have the song figured out (we changed it a little and added some noise...)"
travis speaks out about hearing the white noise versions of "crawl" & "trinta seis tropicalia"...
"Got the mp3s. somehow they both had a blanket of white noise over em but I was able to hear the music beneath and I am impressed. What a great fookin' idea this is. B-Brux is gonna shit himself...I think we've got a hit record here. Top of the charts!... That shit is FUCKIN' AWWWWWsum! We're gonna move unitz!"
if I haven't said it many, many times before let me say it now...le trav is a brilliant man & he is & will always be close to my heart. even if he doesn't have fishbone's cover of "freddie's dead" in his massive music collection. he may take over the nyc music scene whenever he likes. I won't object.
actually, if I can get cheesy & sentimental here...you are all close to my heart for helping me out in this deranged little effort. I smile at you all madly. feel free to stop by my house for tea & bbc whenever you want.
love, d
