but you won't get far
dear peeps,
a new year. a nice sounding one. & unfortunately, that much closer to the deadline for guitarded.
I had originally stated a february 23 deadline but j pointed out that was very silly & he is right. I need more time than that, like duh! so the deadline has been moved up to february 16.
which means 43 DAYS TO GO!!!
ok. cheez tells me that I can get a countdown clock (much like the one at the end of bond movies that always stops at 007 seconds) on this page. I will attempt to figure out how to do that. then on the 24th, it can explode!
I am still mentally preparing myself for recording a vocal track that doesn't suck on 36. we will be doing it at longcomings sometime in the next week. I will let ya know how that works out. tiny marx caught me on the train listening to one of my vocal takes with a look of concentrated disgust. busted! j feels confident about the instrumental take, though he does get a bit flummoxed when he asks me if I think it's good enough & I say it's not good eeeenoooouuuuugggh-aaaah!
I gave the + 1's a mix of the type of songs that I'd like catholic schoolgirls to sound like, namely amateurish but passionate. now watch it come out really slick.
hong kong kelly got the truly frightening open mouthed pic that cheez took of b at dirty/gabe/james xmas party. she is using it as the springboard to what I'm sure will be a genius cover to our little effort. peter saville watch your back!
NEWS
from jeremiah:
"yeah, I'm doing it. I have to decide whether or not I want vocals on it."*
*or something like that. it was loud at the party.
from george jessel:
"Well the good news is that Dan is on board with swell jessel and "tuesday night". He is eager to kick out the jam and show his love for the man with the frizzy fro. I imagine we will try and "cut" the record in the next couple weeks. We'll keep you posted!"
from kristie & george corp:
"g and i got your file...thanks for the lyrics and thank j for me for the tabs...very helpful. we're working on it...we're not sure how we're gonna record, but never fear...it's in the works."
from m is monkey marx:
"if I may speak for team marks, and if I may say so myself, I think our version of "crawl" is going to sound pretty great. we have edited it down a bit to make it more marksy, and phil's interpretation of the guitar solo can only be described as "shredding.""
from t is for tiny marx:
"Last night the M's did crawl and we managed to get through the whole thing....now we need to know how to record it."
to end this post I wanted to cut & paste some stern but soothingly precise words courtesy of that usually smiley source, monkey marx. these words were written in reply to my wondering what to send to people I have not heard from. this is monkey's recommended message:
"if you are in fact doing this, you must give me a progress report by 1/10/05 or else we will assume you are NOT doing this. if you need access to recording equipment/four-track, let us know that right away and we can help schedule use of jeremy's and/or phil's. if you CANNOT or DO NOT WANT to do this after all, tell us that too so we can stop bothering you. if you ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY are committed to doing this but simply haven't started, but ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY promise to have your song recorded by 2/16/05 let us know that and also give an idea of when you'll be recording and how. if you received this email you MUST hit reply in order to be counted as a participant, even if you think I already know your progress, and even if you have no progress to report. report that."
YEAH, WHAT SHE SAYS!!!
no really, she is absolutely right. I do need to know. especially in the light of one person "sorta backing out" already, I would like to know who's still committed to this project so we can get into the recording schedule phase.
until then...

The Beastmaster Romance remix of Neighbors is being worked on. I still only have about 45 seconds done, but this time the 45 seconds are correct, musically speaking.
WHO IS BACKING OUT! FARTHEADS!
(This is a TMarx message)
I really like that tagline (this is a tmarx message), it sounds presidential.
Too bad I can't start doing that all the time or else B-man will somehow find out what's going on.
(This has been a Tmarx message)
