1. was over at the phina estate for asparagus risotto courtesy of everyone's favorite multi-hyphenate CDC (singer/drummer/legal enabler/craftsperson/vegetarian chef/pro-snorter). spent some time frightening &/or inspiring her with my dream of having a "do they know it's xmas"/"we are the world" type recording session of multiply with everyone taking a shot at the mic. george jezel can be bono & wear a headscarf! joe w can be dylan & look like he wandered into the wrong session! travis can have a totally unecessary drum solo a la phil collins, etc... all videotaped for laughs & posterity. touching, eh? then again, I might be alone here as usual...

upon the cheez's arrival I got to hear the first 30 seconds of work from his version of neighbors. wowza! so good despite its brevity that I longed for things I was never even interested in before like wishing I had attended warehouse raves in early 90's manchester, clad in gigantic pants & waving a glo-stick for 24 hours. & that was just the guitar-shard sampling & drums! when the cheez finally comes in on the vocal sounding like a zombie calling you from a phonebox in a dream...ah, what bliss! can't wait to see where this goes --- it is definitely a highlight in the making!

if everybody steps up like this in terms of thinking outside the box & having fun with it, the guitarded release party aka b's surprise birthday party will be a rockin' one indeed. cheez, I toast you.
